This Is How My Brain Works

Or, otherwise known as my back-up outlet for rants so that my husband can get a break every once in a while.

2 Days Down

Things are going okay with classes so far.  I'm having a little difficulty getting jump-started again but that could just be due to having other things on my mind (our trip to Disneyland that keeps getting rescheduled and the recent developments at work).  I think once I get into the groove, I'll be just fine.

So far, I've had 1 OChem lecture, 1 OChem lab, and 1 Physics lab.  I will reserve judgement on my instructors as usual.  1 meeting is too early to tell whether I will like them or not.  Same with the difficulty of the material...we're still in the intro part (or as far as OChem is concerned, the review part).  I can say that things are definitely faster paced than in a semester system.  I was looking over my schedule for OChem and it seems that every week there's a quiz or test or something due.  I will definitely have to be careful not to fall behind.  There is not much room to maneuver!

Back to School & Emotional Trauma

Fall quarter starts today and my first class is this afternoon.  OChem. lab.  To say that I am a little anxious about this school year would be an understatement.  I am taking OChem as well as Physics.  OChem has a reputation of being the med school filter and Physics is not my strongest science.  Unfortunately, with my 2.47 GPA from my BS in Computer Science, I have no other option but to do well if I want to get into medical school.  I guess I'm just a little afraid that my current string of A's is a fluke.  But, I can't think like that.  Just learn the material...truly understand it, and the A's will come.

On another note, it looks like the buyout we're going through is almost done.  The offers were extended yesterday and offer packets are expected today.  Sadly, we lost some more people. :( Strangely, what we collectively felt would be a great thing is turning out to be not so good.  I guess you really should be careful what you wish for.
